Preserving the integrity of your company’s accounting data is of paramount importance. Secure data access has been built into the Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 product family, from the bottom up. Because each company’s needs regarding data security will vary, the Sage MAS 90 product family offers a flexible, dependable, judicious approach, centered within the Library Master module. Below are the key elements of the Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 security matrix.

  • Individual users or user groups are established, given passwords, and assigned regular or supervisory rights.
  • You may restrict users’ access to specific Sage MAS 90 company codes.
  • You may grant access to individual applications (e.g. Accounts Payable) by user or user group within each company.
  • Grant access to an entire menu bar within an application, or restrict access to specified menu options (e.g. Invoice Data Entry).
  • Many functions are protected by special discrete security functions such as a password to override a customer’s credit limit.
  • Using the Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 Custom Office application, hide or restrict buttons and data elements for specified users, or maintain a list of valid entries into data fields.
  • Outside data access is also restricted using a similar security model. To access Sage MAS 90 or Sage MAS 200 data, the security matrix requires the user to log into the data source. Any access rights are pre-determined in the users security setup. ODBC access can be controlled at either a data table level or data element level.
